Here is a design for my book cover or at least some merch...

Storytelling and Bookmaking

We are partnering with the Morgan Library this year to create illuminated manuscripts with gold leaf and hand mixed paints. Here is my planning process. This is based on a story I have been brainstorming for years: I Hate Birds.

 I started with a photo I took at the Bronx Zoo two summers ago. 

 

I sketched it in my sketchbook in pencil and then drew over my lines with a black marker.

I traced my marker drawing onto muslin with a pencil.

It was really fun to do and I like how it turned out.

I love Thanksgiving, so I'm celebrating with a preview. It's upside down, but I can't show what it's really going to look like yet.
